Luke participated in his first ever bike rodeo on Friday morning. It was put on by the police department and a local bike business. The watermelon drop demonstrated why a helmet is important (not wearing a helmet is such a waste of good watermelon!), the bike staff checked the safety of Luke's bike and the police helped the kids maneuver the bike course while practicing arm signals. Riley fell asleep on the walk over to the park but woke up just in time to watch her brother navigate his bike around the parking lot. We left with a goodie bag of Twins' baseball cards, pencils, plastic cups, a coloring book and a new appreciation for the rules of the road.
