Surprise! We pulled off the impossible!

Daddy's birthday is on June 9th and because it coincides with the end of Mom's school year, he usually gets the short end of the stick.  Well this year, we managed to pull together a surprise party for Dad!  Luke, Riley and Grandma and Grandpa managed to keep Dad away from home long enough for Mom to get everything set up.  When they arrived home at 6:45, Dad was so unsuspecting that he didn't even see the birthday balloon tied to mailbox.  His eyes were big when he entered the house and saw some our friends and the spread of food.  It took him a minute to register that it was a party for him!  I guess waiting 13 years to spring a surprise on him was the best tactic after all!
