Sleeping with Mommy, watching Sesame Street with Daddy, swimming and smiling by the pool with Poppa and Daddy...

We spent Saturday night at a hotel in Dickinson which, much to Mommy's pleasure, was located across the street from Happy Joes Pizza Parlor! Sunday morning we woke up, did a little swimming (very little in Luke's case... water was too cold? too wet?) and headed off to Medora. It's always fun to see the landscape change so dramatically. Nanna would have loved to be with us in "God's Country" for sure! We made several stops... first to the information booth in town, next to the Bully Pulpit golf course (where we just happened to run into Mommy's childhood friend, Lora, from Fargo), and then to the ND Cowboy Hall of Fame. After a quick return back to Dickinson for a nap, we drove through the Theodore Roosevelt National Park. A herd of buffalo inside the park delayed our 6:30 dinner reservations at the Pitchfork Fondue, but the staff was kind and fed us despite our late arrival! The Medora Musical was next... it was cold and windy which didn't make for ideal conditions. We were well prepared with jackets and blankets. Unfortunately, the rain didn't hold out and being wet on top of being cold didn't make for a very pleasant night. We left after the first act with high hopes of attending again in the future.
We started our long journey home on Monday morning. Luke was an excellent traveler once again. We stopped for lunch in Valley City... and just by coincidence, the pizza parlor (yes, pizza again!) had a kid's play area for Luke to burn off some energy. Next we stopped in Harwood to stretch our legs and pick up Sammy before continuing down the road. We arrived home that evening, happy to have such fond memories of our trip with Poppa and Grandma Dort!

Luke, are you putting your finger in your belly button to torment Nanna? Too bad the water was cold, we all know how much you like the water. You'll have to come to Nanna and II's and swim in the pool this summer. It should warm up with the daytime temps. in the 80's! Do you believe it?
It's nice you got to enjoy your motel room as well as the lovely scenery.
