Put on your game face

Riley has been fussy the past 10 days. Teething. Again. At this rate, I'm expecting all of her molars to pop through in the next week. (I'm exaggerating, but not THAT much!)

Yesterday, she was inconsolable. I spoke to the on-call nurse and she consoled me but couldn't offer any new solutions other than waiting it out. So, last night Riley woke up screaming on 4 separate occasions despite being fully (but safely) medicated. At 5 am it became apparent that we couldn't send her to daycare. Mommy took the morning shift and Daddy took the afternoon. After a 3 hour morning nap and a field trip with Daddy, Grandma and Grandpa, Smiley Riley reemerged. She's still being a little fussy, but nothing like yesterday.

Luke made a momentous decision tonight. After 3 years of rejecting strawberries, he finally started eating them voluntarily. His practice run throughs at Nanna's house helped. Nanna fed him strawberries topped with marshmallows! Tonight, he enjoyed them both solo and with ice cream.

So sorry Riley has had such a tender time teething. It's precious to see her lovely smile and since we haven't seen her in person, we naturally think she's always smiling. And Luke, so glad he's taken to strawberries! It's obviously on his time schedule. Wait until he can pick raspberries from I-I's garden...will he pucker up or think they are tasty?
