We were up and at 'em early this morning to attend church with Grandma and Grandpa, Courtney and Carley. Following the service we partook in the pancake breakfast. It was yummy, just ask Riley. She ate 2 full pieces of french toast, a 2 big scoops of scrambled eggs, 2 sausage links and a pancake. Plus, she ate all the delicious syrup-filled bites Grandpa could sneak to her. She felt 3 pounds heavier when I carried her out of the cafeteria. Carley came home with us to have "fun" cleaning. We decided on the way home that we should go to Home Depot to pick up a bag or two of mulch for around the mailbox. We swung by home and got the van (cause Mommy won't let her new car get dirty!!) and as we pulled into the HD parking lot, we were greeted by a giant sign that read, "4-day sale! 50% off cypress mulch". Well, 2 bags quickly became 15 bags. Then Dan went back for another 30 bags. And then another 30 bags. And finally 20 more bags for good measure. A relaxing day, became a labor intensive day. Luke and Riley were big helpers, unless they were exercising their right to a play break. Carley was worth her weight in gold. She helped with mulch, took the kids to the park, pushed the swings, changed Riley's diaper... you get the idea. When all was said and done, our backyard, side yard and mailbox looked great. What a relief to have that job done for the year... and at a 50% discount to boot!
