After celebrating Luke's birthday for 3 weeks, it was finally Riley's turn! Unfortunately, the birthday girl came down with an ear infection the day before her party. She was a little overwhelmed when she woke from her nap to find a houseful of people waiting to greet her, but eventually she managed to enjoy herself... Especially when the presents came out. The day started with donuts. They're a Sunday morning staple when II visits thanks to his early wake-up time and strong need for coffee and a newspaper. Following church, we ate at Noodles, stopped at Target for the cake and came home to prepare for the party. Riley's preparation included napping. Nanna set up Riley's gift while she slept, a wooden doll house that has more furniture than our own house. :)
Soon, the other guests arrived. Grandma & Grandpa, Beth & Tony & Vaughn & Brock, Michelle & Mick & Carley & Courtney, and the Floridians- JD & Holly. Riley and the kids liked eating cupcakes and even though Riley wasn't up for water fun, the boys enjoyed playing in the pool and on the slip and slide. Presents came next and that's when Riley really perked up. Her favorites included the mini puppy pillow pet from Carley and the pink tutu from Auntie Beth. It was so fun to spend Riley's birthday with family!
