Santa found our house again this year, probably in part because of the reindeer food Luke sprinkled on the sidewalk prior to dragging his tired body up to bed. The lack of snow this year eliminated the chance of catching a Santa footprint or reindeer hoofprint, but the disheveled food proved his presence even before we checked on the stockings.
Luke's big present was a remote control helicopter... we're not sure if he was more pleased with the gift or the fact that Santa thought he was responsible enough to receive a toy intended for 14+. Riley got her first Barbie doll, complete with a pink convertible (perhaps Santa was making up for never bringing her mom's Barbies a fabulous set of wheels?). Mom and Dad got more practical gifts... shampoo, conditioner & razor blades to name a few.
There was some letdown in Luke's camp... he was certain that any toy he had written on his Christmas list would appear under the tree. There were a couple of problems with this theory. #1- Santa has lots of toys to deliver and many children to make happy. One should not be gluttonous.
#2- Luke's list, while containing many letters, was virtually impossible to translate. And for some reason, he wouldn't share what he had written because, "Santa would know what he meant."
Next year, we'll start the list earlier and take better notes as we go, just in case Mom and Dad need to send Santa an email or something.

I'd guess Luke has mastered the controls of the helicopter by now. He has pretty fast reflexes. I'd guess Daddy doesn't mind helping, it looked like a fun toy.
And has Riley given up her other dollies for Barbie? I wonder if she'll give her Barbie haircuts like the ones still here in the closet.
