We made a quick Presidents' Day weekend trip to North Dakota. We spent a fun Saturday out at the farm. After a quick stop to turn on the heat in the
shouse, we headed to the VFW in Valley Town for hamburgers. After refueling and checking out the "newest" antique store, we went back to the farm for some warm weather play on the slough. Luke LOVED playing in the weeds and the snow. After Riley's nap, she joined us, too. It was a perfectly sunny, warm day. Luckily the ice was still frozen on the slough. Luke brought his ice skates, but the ice was a little too rough for speed skating. No problem, cause pushing snow with the shovel is just as much fun.
II made a bonfire and we roasted marshmallows and made smores. They were YUMMY!
The only drawback of visiting the farm in the winter is the lack of running water. Especially when you have to go potty. :) Luke didn't skip a beat and made a run to visit Mrs. Jones. Nanna grabbed a broom and made a reconnaissance mission to shoo out any vermin that might be nesting in the bathroom. She was relieved to find the bathroom empty, Luke made himself comfortable for a relaxing visit with Mrs. Jones.

What fun memories! I know your Dad relives some of his childhood and appreciates being able to relive both your visits to the farm with Grandma & Grandpa D.& Uncle Len as well as now our new memories with Luke and Riley. The shovel served many purposes in the old days.
