Like most of the country, we've been consumed with the 35W bridge disaster over the past couple days. This event is a clear reminder that life is a gift. So many people have been directly or indirectly affected by this tragedy. The stories of survival are utterly amazing. The imminence of a rising death toll is painful to contemplate. We are thankful to have each other and our friends and family and we're praying for those who have lost someone special.
Carley spent last night at our house. Luke was thrilled to wake up and see his cousin crib-side this morning. We had breakfast, went shopping at Old Navy (Carley got a sassy pair of sunglasses), ate lunch at Godfathers Pizza, came home and took a nap, and went for an afternoon walk. Luke is starting to become attached to his Mommy, as evidenced by his behavior when I tried to steal away for more mac & cheese at Godfathers. Everyone was aware that Luke was unhappy for about 15 seconds. One gentleman stopped by as he was leaving and told me that I obviously knew where Luke's "off switch" was located. Not sure if that was a compliment or a jab at my screaming child... oh well! I figure, he's at Godfathers, not Murray's Steakhouse. :)
A little post-shower fun!
Luke has lounging down pat!
Check out our cool shades!
