All sewn up!

Luke went to the doctor today... not for a new injury, rather to have his old stitches taken out. Can you believe it's already been a week since the "bookshelf" incident? Luke was a TOTAL trooper. Dr. Morkeberg was AWESOME (he has been dubbed our new "primary" doctor). He has the bedside manner of a kindergarten teacher! These skills served especially important as Luke had to remain completely still while the sutures were snipped out. Luke was like "little stone face" (if Aunt Kim reads this she'll appreciate the inside joke!) as the doctor snipped 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 stitches. Then BAM! We were done.

The first photo is Luke showing Mommy his chin before (he loves to "show" his battle scar!). The second is soon after the stitches had been removed. No ice cream after this one... Mommy was a little concerned it would melt right into his scar and get infected. Maybe we'll celebrate in a few days! :)

What a brave boy, Luke! I bet
I-I could have taken the stitches out out after all. What a comfort to know you have a Dr. with patient rapore. You certainly healed quickly. Did the Dr. reccommend some teeth guards like football, hockey and bull riders wear?
Love,
