3 days closer to a diaper-free home!

I'm not sure what Luke loves more... his matchbox cars or the "big-boy feeling" his new underwear give him. :) Here's how week 1 of potty training has been playing out:

Monday: Phone call from school encouraging us to try underwear with Luke. Trip to Target (see previous post).

Tuesday: Mom chickens out and sends Luke to school in diapers.

Wednesday am: Luke starts the day going potty in the potty chair and donning his new Thomas the Train underwear. A backpack full of clothes, socks, shoes, and new underwear accompany him to school. Mom breaks down and calls to see how things are going at 11:00 because she just can't stand the suspense anymore! The report? 2 successful trips to the potty chair. No accidents. Yeah!

Wednesday pm: Mom arrives to pick Luke up from school and is elated to find him in the same clothes she helped him put on in the morning. :) We arrive home from school and go straight to the potty chair, which leaves Luke mad and eager to flex his 2-year old will. He wins. Seven minutes later he proclaims, "I go potty, Mommy!" Too late. Wet pants. He redeems himself later that night by going poo-poo!

Thursday: Starts the day with potty in the potty chair and "fancy" Elmo underwear. Mom exercises restraint and doesn't call during the day today. She arrives to find Luke in the same clothes. He proceeds to go potty and poo-poo twice that evening.

Friday: Starts the day with potty in the potty chair and another pair of Elmo underwear. It's another dry day!!! Mommy begins to panic at the thought of being responsible for keeping track of Luke's potty schedule all weekend. At least the washing machine will be close by if we need it! Wish us luck! We'll be sticking close to home so feel free to give us a call... :)

We are so proud of Lukie! Vaughn's underwear day ended at 9:30am. He stood outside the bathroom and proceeded to pee on the floor. Not fazed he told Tony "my leg is wet" He really could care less. Atleast my bathroom floor is clean!
