Luke is home sick today. He's got a persistent cough (nothing like croup or whooping cough), just a pesky cough that won't go away. Yesterday afternoon he walked up to his teacher and said, "Ms. Dawn, I don't feel good." (according to her, this statement came with puppy dog eyes). He was running a temp, so we had to pick him up from school. Since there's a 24 hour rule about kids with fevers, Mommy stayed home with Luke today to see if she could nurse him back to health. So far, we've been through half a box of kleenex. We also cut into one of the best cantaloupe we've had in a long time (YUM!) and made peanut butter cookies. We even tried to vacuum, but something broke. Daddy's home now trying to fix it before Mommy can convince him it's time to buy a new vacuum.... preferably one that has NASA strength suction to pick up all of Sammy's hair.
UPDATE: Okay, It's been 3+ hours since I started this post and Luke's condition has taken a turn. He's not so happy anymore and it appears his day full of coughing is taking it's toll on his throat (which he insists on calling his "throw up"). Looks like either Dan or I will be home with Luke again tomorrow. Grandma and Grandpa McHugh... Where are you???????? :)

How's Lukey? Is he down for the night? He might need a little Vicks Vapor Rub bubble bath. Bring him down to Florida for some walks in the sun. Doctor's orders.
Hi Luke,
Grandma & Grandpa wish we were there to take care of you. Grandma would rock you and read stories. Grandpa could give you lots of treats to make you feel better. We will see you soon.
Love you,
Grandma & Grandpa McHugh
