You're my MOMMY!

The past few days have offered some interesting conversations with Luke.  Perhaps it's the restful sleep he's getting on his new bed.  Anyway, here is one of my favorites.

We were getting ready to go to school and Luke was taking his time putting on his shoes.

Mommy: "Hurry up Luke or Mommy will be late for work."  (We ALWAYS say Lukie goes to school, Mommy goes to school, Daddy goes to work.)

Luke looks up at me with disbelief in his eyes and a smile on his face and says, "No, you don't, Mommy!"

Mommy:  "Well, I mean Mommy is going to her school to go to work."

Luke with a bigger smile: "No, you don't!"

Mommy:  "Mommy is going to work at school because she's a teacher."

Luke with a laugh: "YOU'RE not a TEACHER, you're my MOMMY!!"

I spent the next 2 minutes laughing with Luke and was consequently 5 minutes late for work.  Oops, I mean school.

Which came first Luke? The Karla or the Mommy?

Luke's going to keep us all on our toes. We are going to hopefully have a lot more such entries of those "things we think we'll never forget." Love the sequence pictures. I hear he's pretty brave about climbing the ladder and going down the slide now too.
Once he sizes up the risk factor and commits to doing something, he's totally on with the enjoyment isn't he?
