Mommy and Daddy are taking turns staying home with 2 healthy kids this week. Unfortunately our child care provider's 3 year old daughter is sick (H1N1) and we're keeping Luke and Riley away until her fever subsides. This extended "vacation" has given us the opportunity to watch Riley as she experiences a big growth spurt. She recently found her voice... and once found, she's demonstrated an incredible talent for emitting high-pitched shrills. Usually they're signs of happiness, but over the past 2 days, they've been desperate cries for MILK! Today, Riley's feeding/sleeping schedule went like this:
4:45 am- 5 1/2 ounces
5:00-9:30 am- sleep
9:30 am- 4 1/2 ounces
9:45-1:30 pm- sleep
1:30 pm- 5 1/2 ounces
3:30 pm- 6 ounces
5:30 pm- 5 1/2 ounces
7:30 pm- 2 ounces (before passing out for the night)
This is a lot for Riley, especially the cluster feeding this afternoon. Typically, her feedings are smaller because of her reflux and they're normally 3 hours apart. You can almost set your clock by it. So, today was a weird day. It will be interesting to see how she changes over the next couple days. :)
