Riley has been rolling to her side when sleeping for the past 10 days. Yesterday (October 21) Mommy witnessed a first. While at her physical therapy appointment, Riley rolled from her belly onto her back. It was so exciting! I'm convinced it wasn't an accident either... she got to her side and then extended her top leg in front of her to push herself over. I cheered like she had just qualified for the Olympics. Jean (the PT) helped us celebrate by joining in the clapping. Riley smiled and smiled... probably not quite sure what she had done but fully aware that we were looking at her and she had done something special!
Riley has been going to physical therapy every couple of weeks to treat and assess her torticollis. Jean said that Riley has made such great improvements in neck strength and mobility that she may only need to come back once a month for a few months. At our next appointment, we'll be deciding if Riley needs to wear a cranial cap for a few months to help balance out the shape of her head. The back of her head is pretty flat... perhaps her brain is so big that it's making the top half of her head look gigantic? :)

I think she's got tummy time licked now! No more controlling her position. She obviously should have a "big" head for all the things she's figuring out.
Go, Riley!
