Mrs. Strowbridge had leaked to us before spring break that Luke would be chosen for the month of March, so it was sometimes tough to keep the secret when Luke talked about wanting to go meet Mr. Nelson. Knowing before hand did not lessen the excitement of Luke's announcement. He beamed when he came bust through the back gate and up the steps to the deck. We're so pleased that he is excited about being "good" at school... it will serve him well the rest of his life!

Our little "citizenship" winner
Luke has learned a lot in kindergarten this year. His teacher has been a fantastic influence on him, both academically and socially. For the past 2 months, Luke as brought home a positive behavior award slip every day. On Wednesday, he and another little friend were called up to the principal's office to be congratulated for their "above-the-line" behavior. This was a REALLY big deal. In February two other students were chosen to represent Luke's class and it left a big impact on him. He talked about his desire to be "picked" for this auspicious award in more than one bedtime prayer. It may be that he is beginning to mature or that he enjoyed a competitive challenge... either way, it was a fantastic motivator for him.

I'm so happy that I was there to see and hear about his award. We are so proud of Luke's good behavior and inspired by his curiousity to know about the true meaning of Easter. His prayers are precious and from the heart.
