Let me entertain you!

Luke had a busy weekend hosting guests. Our friends, Lori and Curtis, came over on Friday night so it would be easier for Dan and Curtis to get an early start for their Saturday volleyball tournament. Luke woke up and enjoyed reading to Lori after breakfast.

At around noon on Saturday, Tanya and Libby joined the party. They were back for the weekend from Colorado. It's amazing how much Libby has grown. She and Luke got along very well. We went shopping for some groceries later in the afternoon. I could have kicked myself that I left the camera at home. While Tanya, Lori, and I scoured the deli case for 8 different varieties of cheese, Luke and Libby sat in their respective shopping carts... side by side, holding hands. True love!
Why does anyone need 8 different types of cheese, do you ask? Well, Tanya found a decadent recipe for macaroni and cheese which required a huge assortment of cheese. Look at what the recipe produced!!! Luckily we had invited Jane, Adam, and Brie over to share the feast. Get this, the photo was taken AFTER everyone had taken their first serving! Needless to say, everyone left with a doggy bag!

Sunday was our day to play the guests. We attended a baby shower in which moms, dads, and kids were welcome. Luke demonstrated stranger anxiety in a huge way. The noise and number of people were overwhelming for him. He finally settled down when he found the food table. It was the perfect height for serving himself molasses cookies. :) Can you say sugar rush? He also loved Amy and Alex's stairs... there was a nice landing half way up which he enjoyed lounging on. It wasn't very conducive for letting Mommy visit with other adults, but Luke sure thought it was fun. Daddy had every intention of joining us at the shower until he was offered a ticket to the Vikings game. If you didn't watch the game, you should have. Adrian Peterson set the NFL single game rushing record at 296 yards. Amazing!! More amazing, the Vikings won! Perhaps there is hope for the season after all. (smirk.)
