Well, Riley is 6 months old... it feels like she's been here FOREVER! It's amazing what a different experience raising the second child is. With Luke, we just couldn't wait for him to accomplish the next "trick". With Riley, we find ourselves surprised that she's "already" doing certain things. It's not like she's advanced... we're just not in as big of a hurry for her to grow up, I guess.
At 6 months, Riley is doing the following:
- putting EVERYTHING in her mouth!!
- grabbing at objects... things above her, to the side of her... even at the other end of her crib.
- rolling to her left (still not rolling over with great frequency).
- belly laughing, especially at her goofy brother!
- drinking 6-7oz bottles (usually 6 a day)
- standing for a minute at a time with hand-holding support
- smiling on command... she's legitimately earned the nickname "Smiley Riley"
- eyeing up all food that goes into our mouths, despite the fact she rejected the opportunity to eat for herself.
- babbling and cooing like a songbird
- growing crazy long hairs all over her head!
More info to follow. She's got her 6 month appointment on Friday...
