Luke had an incredible weekend with cousin Vaughn, Aunt Beth and Uncle Tony. Even at 37 weeks pregnant, Aunt Beth welcomed Luke into the house so Mommy and Daddy could attend the WFHS 20 year reunion! Mommy and Daddy had a great time... Luke may have had an even better time!
The weekend revolved around the 2 Ps, playing and potty. Vaughn is really getting the hang of going potty in the potty chair and Luke is never one to get left behind. Luke even tested the waters trying to stand, aim and pee, even though nothing came out. Beth described one particular attempt with great humor as she had to hold Luke steady while he balanced on his tippy toes trying to get high enough to aim into the toilet. When offered a stool to stand on, he refused. Apparently Aunt Beth's hands under his armpits was more comfortable. All that practice paid off, because when we got home on Sunday, Luke insisted on going upstairs to his potty chair. Low and behold, he went potty (seated) when bribed with an opportunity to go out and ride his bicycle (which had been stranded at Nanna and II's house for a week!). Good work, Aunt Beth!
There was lots of playing too! They went to the regional park and played at the beach. Luke built sandcastles and waded in the shallow water with Aunt Beth. He wasn't thrilled when he landed face first in the water (was Vaughn nearby, perhaps?), but recovered quickly and rejoined them in the water after lounging on the beach towel for a while.
Luke is ready to go back to Aunt Beth and Uncle Tony's, where the cherries are abundant and the chocolate milk flows free.
