Wild weekend for All!

The McHughs had fun this past weekend. Dan and I went to the Waupaca Boatride grass vb tournament (currently held in Wisconsin Dells, not Waupaca) and Luke spent a couple days with Grandma and Grandpa McHugh. We rode with Doug and Johanna, who are back from Sweden for a few weeks of vacation. Luke took to the 2 of them immediately!

Once in Waupaca, we reconnected with people from all over the Midwest. Both Dan and I played open... Dan's team (Dan, Adam VanOort, and Jeff Sandberg) dominated through pool play and playoffs. We all hoped this would be the year they pulled off a 1st place finish. Despite their excellent play, they ran into a guy who was on fire in the finals and lost a couple of close games. They finished as bridesmaids once again, but left with $900 and motivation to win it all next year. My team didn't fair as well as Dan's. On the upside, I was able to watch Dan play in most of his playoff matches and recruit strangers to cheer for the "good guys from Minnesota".

Luke had fun with Grandma and Grandpa. He gave them plenty of opportunity to change diapers. They went on walks and swam in the turtle pool. He also spent hours playing with his new wooden semi truck. It can haul 26 wood alphabet blocks. Grandpa would do his best to stack the blocks before Luke could wind up with his right hook and smash the pyramid. Luke usually won. :)

This afternoon we had family nap time. We were all tired from the busy weekend! Luke took a bath and had a grilled ham and cheese sandwich for supper, one of his favorites! Then it was time for bed... which is where I'm going now! Good night!
